| Csaba A. Szabo received his Ph. D. degree from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE) and a Doctor of Technical Sciences title from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is a Professor at the Dept. of Telecommunications of BUTE. His 30 years of experience in academia, R&D and telecommunication business includes local and metropolitan area network test beds, integrated services wireless networks, video conferencing and media streaming, optical networks and wireless broadband access networks. Dr. Szabo has been a member of editorial boards of several journals including Computer Networks, and a member of organizing and program committees of many conferences. Recently, he has been involved in WONS - Wireless On-Demand Network Services (2004, 2005), Opticomm (2003) and the 1st Int’l Workshop on Community Networks and FTTx where he was a keynote speaker (2003). He is a General Co-Chair of the Multimedia Services Access Networks (MSAN) conference to be held in April 2005. Dr. Szabo is a co-editor and co-author of an upcoming Wiley book titled “Broadband Services: Business Models and Technologies for Community Networks”. He is a Senior Advisor to Create-Net Research Consortium, based in Trento, Italy, where he is supervising the planning and development of a novel wireless/optical testbed. Dr. Szabo is a Senior Member of IEEE and listed in the Marquis Who is Who in the World, Millenium Edition, 2000. |
