| Ashwin Gumaste is with Fujitsu Laboratories working in the Photonics Networking Research Group in Richardson, Texas. His current research focuses on metro optical networks, optical networks for computational grids, and IT virtualization through optical networks. Ashwin received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas. Ashwin has previously worked in Fujitsu Network Communications R&D and prior to that with Cisco Systems under the Optical Networking Group. He has written numerous papers and has over thirty pending U.S. and EU patents, and during 1991, Ashwin was awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship in India. His research interests include optical and wireless networking and Uncertainty Equilibriums in social and networking environments. He has authored two books in broadband networks called DWDM Network Designs and Engineering Solutions, and First Mile Access Networks and Enabling Technologies. He is also co-authoring a book on Broadband Services: User Needs, Business Models and Technologies for John Wiley. |
